Finland-Somalia Association F.S.A
Finland-Somalia Association was found in 1986 and it is a non-governmental friendship association. The main purposes of the association is to strengthen the friendship of the Somalis and the finnish, to bring forward the culture and the history of Somalia among finnish society. Our main purposes are also to promote Finland-Somalia relationship, to share information and help both communities to understand each other.
In order to achieve our goals we co-operate with Finnish nd Somali citizens, thier organizations/associations and also other bodies who want to promote same values. Finland-Somalia Association also publishes koor journal twice yearly, we actively folow the finnish and Somali media and take part in discussions. The association also takes part in development projects and have implemented several projects in different parts of Somalia. At the meantime we have two healthcare projects going on; one in Afgoi and other one in Afmadow.
The aim of the association is also to arrange seminars, events, meetings/conferences and to promote cultural, historical and tourism activities between Somalia and Finland. Finland-Somalia Association also speaks on behalf of integration, tolerance and promoting of mature understanding of different cultures amd communities. We also speak on behalf of the young and women to promote their process of integration, participation and empowerment.
